biography born as the bastard child of shi'ir molkot and leih mhelthea in the empire of garlemald. she grew up with her father, who claimed to no have blood ties to her, but kept her to train her as a garlean soldier. she was thrown out at age 12 for not making enough progress on her training and was subsequently found on the streets by livia sas junius and nero tol scaeva; she was taken in by livia(much to nero's chagrin), being reminded of her own upbringing with gaius. amh spent the rest of her childhood in relative peace; her training was still present, but much less harsh, and eventually she was officially inducted into the xivth legion with her preferred name and given title, meze oen mhelthea. she quickly climbed up the ranks, sitting at the second-highest available title due to her birthright, rem by the time she was 20.
comfortable with her position and where she was at, amh felt good. it wasn't until 2 years later when she started to question her country; gaius had informed his legion of the production and his plans to stop it, despite this, amh was still unsure. she was always proud fighting for her legion, moreso than her country, but is that really worth it? she brought up these concerns to livia as she bit at her nails. livia laughed at her, like big sisters tend to do. "you can do whatever you wish." she told amh, "however, we will not follow you." nothing binds amh to the xivth legion like the rest of them; gaius to his country, livia and rhitahtyn to gaius, nero to his spite. and so, she fled. she left in the dead of night on a boat to eorzea, having shed her garlean armor and carrying nothing but the clothes on her back and the words livia said to her in her head. it was this day that she had taken up the name amh verihte, for not only safety reasons, but to truly have a new start in life, in a better place.
